Well, you heard it right, after much deliberation and sadness, I have decided to leave the drum shop after seven and a half years there. I am a musician and a salesman and a teacher, not a politician....whatever. Tristan and I are both leaving and we will continue to teach somewhere(we're not sure yet) Keep in touch with me folks.

Hey Chris,
Sorry to hear you won't be at Cadence anymore.
Keep me in the loop as far as your plans for the future.

Say it ain't so!

Sorry to hear this piece of news. Cadence was the only place where I could talk Dubs and tubs in the same conversation!

Seconding what Steve said, good luck and keep us posted where you and Tristan end up.

Well, not to beat a dead horse dude, but if you and Tristan are gone then I prolly won't be frequenting that shop anymore. I went over there today just to see what he had on the shelf used-wise, and it did seem to be a little uncomfortable - like he was on his best behavior. <wotta>

Good luck with the new endeavor, definityely let us know where you end up?. I'm still looking for an entrepreneurial project myself if you have any cool ideas and need a partner... something nice and low-stress would be cool. :-)

Paul

I know what you're feeling. I went in there a couple times a few years back and just plain didn't feel comfortable. I was treated a little bit like I didn't know what I was talking about and that he was the only guy who knew anything.

I never went back.

Yikes.
Just out of curiosity, how far would you travel to an independent dealer?

I need you to meet me up at Mickey finns this Wednesday. I am playing with 3dr degree from 7-10. I need you to see why my snare is robbing me of heads. I can use the 10 inch yami that night. I think I saw a bend in the rim the last time I changed out the head. I cannot crank the head down which sucks. THe snare is one of the best I have heard when tuned but it keeps popping heads.
Can you stop up then?

Hi,
I should be able to swing down for a bit. What size is the problem drum?

a 14 inch snare-I keep ripping the seal off from the left top side. I'll bring the last drum head I ripped so you can see what it is doing.

Could be a number of things:
an out of round shell, a counterhoop with a yip in it, a catch in that area of the bearing edge, a bearing edge that isn't flat on plane around 360 degrees, etc...
