...oh yeah -- and BlueJimmy too -- at the Bug Jar last night. SRO crowd, and some great stuff was played.
First band up was The Corrections. Good melodic rock from these guys out of Buffalo. The drummer went by the name of "Cave". Solid player.

BlueJimmy was up next. Great band -- the drummer's a hack though.
Burning Daylight. I love these guys. Power trio playing stuff in the style of The Old 97s, Wilco, etc... Think Johnny Cash meets the Clash. Jesse Sprinkle is a great soul, and a powerful, clever drummer. He brought it last night. The evening's festivities were a benefit of sorts for Jesse's new recording studio -- BlueBrick Recording in Avon.

The Mercies. Formerly "Footage". Wow, I've been watching Jonny Stevens since his days with Classified Brass and Dizzy Monk. What a great talent. He was in LA for a spell, but now we've got him back here again. A powerhouse player with killing chops and really knows how to support the song. He had this 20" ride that sounded super -- even with a pizza slice - sized chunk filed out of the edge. Keep your eyes on these guys.
