I got one of these about 6 months ago. It has really been a useful piece of gear in several ways.
I'd been researching them quite a bit, then went out and got one after having seen one in action when we opened for a Nashville artist. His RW looked pretty road-worn, but was still functioning flawlessly, and seemed very easy to operate between songs.
Anyways, for live performance they're very handy. You can program up to 30 song tempos. The only thing you have to be careful of here is to either make sure that the set list gets followed to a T, or to have some kind of a cue worked out if the set order gets altered. Our setlist can cover a lot of ground, tempo-wise, from slow country shuffles to up-tempo rockers. You just punch up the next tempo, and through either the audible tone (which you can pipe through personal headphones, an in-ear monitor mix, etc...) or the light, be right on the tempo.
I've got mine threaded onto a small cymbal boom arm, which is attached to my hi-hat stand with an accessory clamp.
I also teach a few students, and the metronome is obviously a great teaching aid.

Bottom line, I'd recommend it for anyone who's serious about practicing and instructing with a tempo device, setting your live tempos, and recording (you can use it as a click track too!). Great piece of gear.
